Camp Kala
Four suites. One busy waterhole. No compromise. Designed by Nick Plewman Architects with interiors by Fox Browne Creative, Camp Kala sits elevated on wooden stilts above one of Onguma's most prolific waterholes, its conical mud-plastered tower rising from the landscape like a termite mound grown large. Named on the Condé Nast Traveller Hotlist in 2023, it is one of a small number of truly ultra-luxury safari camps in Namibia.
The Suites
Camp Kala has four spacious, open-plan suites linked by raised walkways. Each suite offers:
- King or twin beds with air-conditioning, plus an evening breeze system over the bed for guests who prefer to sleep with open doors
- Fully stocked personal bar
- Bespoke double vanities, full-size bathtub, and generous shower with direct waterhole views
- Private deck with wood-fired hot tub and plunge pool
- Private shaded sala with king-size outdoor day bed for game viewing or sleeping out under the stars
Discreet, attentive butler service is available throughout your stay.
Camp Kala accommodates a maximum of eight adult guests and can be booked as individual suites or taken exclusively as a whole.

Activities
All activities at Camp Kala are custom tailored and take place across the greater Onguma reserve. Private game drives, guided bush walks, Etosha excursions through the Von Lindequist Gate, and the full range of Onguma experiences are available to Camp Kala guests.
